INFORMATION ON THE FAMILY MEDICINE PROGRAM

A6 Medicine (37 beds)

  • Acute & chronic medical patients
  • All types of medical problems including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, endocrine, etc.
  • A few non-teaching internal medicine patients



A6 MEDICINE

POSITION NUMBER: 2336
POSITION: PART TIME (0.6) TERM
TERM DATES: SEPT 6/10 - JUNE 5/11

SHIFT LENGTH: 7 3/4
ROTATION: DAY/EVENING


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • CRNM registration required
  • Recent Acute Medical Nursing experience required

If there are no applicants meeting the qualifications, the employer may consider an
applicant who does not meet the above qualifications.

A RESUME IS REQUIRED WHEN APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION

The term position is a "maternity or parental leave of absence term" which may expire sooner than indicated, subject to minimum notice of two (2) weeks or one pay period, whichever is longer.





CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE
A6 MEDICINE

POSITION NUMBER: 1737
POSITION: FULL TIME (1.0) TERM
TERM DATES: APR 6/10- INDEFINITE
SHIFT LENGTH: 7 3/4
ROTATION: EVENING

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CRNM registration required
  • Bachelor of Nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum two (2) years recent Acute Medical Nursing experience in a tertiary care setting required
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common e-mail and internet software applications required
  • Charge Nurse experience required
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem solving, leadership and decision making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required
  • Demonstrated teaching ability required
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and pursue self development opportunities required

1) Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, clinical skills/knowledge, problem-solving skills, communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal skills, leadership skills, management skills, teaching skills, work record, professional development and seniority.
2) A reference from the current Supervisor may be required, upon request.
3) A sample of the applicant's own writing may be requested.
4) Applicants are required to submit a letter of application including a current resume.
