St. Boniface General Hospital has a core of 400 dedicated volunteers who provide over 47,000 hours of service to the hospital yearly.

Why Volunteer?

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone over the age of 16 and able to commit a minimum of 60 hours (total) may apply.

The minimum age requirement for the Summer Student Program is 14 years of age.

When Can I Volunteer?

We have volunteer positions available during weekdays, evenings and on weekends.

What Can I Do as a Volunteer?

Volunteers provide services in a variety of areas, including:

Gift Shop – Retail, Flower Delivery, Newspaper Delivery, Clerical Assistance, Friendly Visitation, Hospitality, Patient Library, Recycling, Communion Ministry, Chapel Portering, Buhler Art Gallery Host, Pet Visitation and Special Events

What Will Happen Once I Apply?

Once we receive your application, Volunteer Services will contact you to set up a meeting date.

What Type of Training Will I Receive?

Volunteer Services provides an orientation to all new volunteers which includes training on patient confidentiality, infection control, emergency codes and more. On the job training will be provided.
